Batter & Berries

Next weekend you will probably wake up to a text message asking one of Chicago’s toughest questions: Where should we go to brunch? Instead of scrolling through hundreds of yelps greatest reviews, just trust me and head to Batter & Berries.
Not an entirely willing to trust me? Let me see if I can persuade you in three words. French. Toast. Flights. The French Toast Flight is a delicious sampling of some of the most popular french toasts in the joint. If you are in a larger group (or just with one other person, no judgement) I suggest ordering one of these for the table to give everyone a chance to try a few different types.
Batter & Berries boasts that everything is made in house and this makes the quality unparalleled. Our group ordered a wide variety of food and it was all delicious and impressive. I indulged in the Chicken N’ Gaufre – a chicken and waffles combo described as a chicken-stuffed sweet potato waffle topped with fried chicken drizzled in a nutmeg hot sauce and served with maple butter. I don’t know how the restaurant thought of those flavor combos, but I am sure glad they pulled the trigger and did. It was AMAZING! The maple butter was delicious and I could probably eat it plain. I would go back and get it again, and again, and again, and each time post pictures about it to social media.
If you are not 100% sold this one last tidbit that might push you in Batter & Berries direction – It’s BYOB.
