Orlando’s Magical Dining Month

Written By: Erica Chu (@Erica_Chu)

Local and tourist foodies alike have the opportunity to taste the most magical city on earth with an eclectic mix of restaurants to leave you spellbound and wanting more.

Orlando is an emerging city filled with an amazing culinary scene and the dining deals seem never-ending.  Foodies have the chance to celebrate the best of the best of “the city beautiful” from now until October 2nd with the Magical Dining Month deal. Indulge in prix fixe dinners from over 90 of Orlando’s best restaurants for just $33. This deal is irresistible, especially when most of the restaurants offer $20+ entrees on their regular menu. Last year, this event raised more than $165,000 for Elevate Orlando and in it’s 11th year, $1 from each meal will be donated to The Russell Home for Atypical Children. Every calorie will go to a great cause but every bite will go to satisfy your every craving.

Check out the exquisite menus, here. Menus showcase a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from and the website organizes the restaurants by “neighborhoods” or districts to make dining easier. Before you get overwhelmed with the amount of choices, check out some of the highlights below.

The Ravenous Pig

From farm to table, this local favorite offers seasonal dishes as well as favorites to their Magical Dining Menu to appease your stomach’s desire. The shrimp & grits is a popular dish with flavors that will spice up your life while the seasonal pasta dish, porcini tagliatelle, compliments the taste palette. A happy ending to the meal could be pig tails, which sends you back to the carnival with the churro and funnel cake fluffiness mixture. Being in the heart of Winter Park, this restaurant is great for that after-dinner stroll to walk off some of that foodbaby belly.

Morimoto Asia

This new restaurant from Iron Chef Morimoto combines the many flavors of Asian cuisine to create an innovative but exciting taste for your palette. It is centered at the most perfect location, Disney Springs, so it’s convenient to feast after a long day at the most magical place on earth. To start off the meal, there’s a choice of soup/salad, dim sum, or my personal favorite, baos. These steamed pork baos are drizzled with spicy mayo to add that extra kick of flavor. There are many options when it comes to the entree portion, but pictured are the La BBQ Kalbi boneless short ribs doused in kimchi and gochujang sauce. For dessert, you can never go wrong with some nutella-filled churros dipped in vanilla cream.
