Ingredients
Serving size: 24
For the Pimento Cheese:
2 cups grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
4 oz pimento peppers, drained
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Honey Garlic Butter:
1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
3 tbsp honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
For the Jalapeño Poppers:
24 jalapeño peppers
3 cans crescent roll dough (cut into strips)
Instructions
Make the Pimento Cheese:
In a food processor or with a hand mixer, combine the grated cheddar cheese, cream cheese, pimento peppers, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
Blend until smooth and creamy, adjusting seasoning to taste. Set aside.
Prepare the Jalapeños:
Cut each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Be careful when handling the peppers – wearing gloves is recommended to avoid irritation.
Stuff each jalapeño half generously with the pimento cheese mixture, ensuring they’re well-packed.
Wrap the Jalapeños:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Cut the crescent roll dough into strips. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a strip of crescent dough, covering it as best as you can. Be sure the edges are tucked in to prevent cheese from spilling out during baking.
Bake the Poppers:
Arrange the wrapped jalapeño poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
Make the Honey Garlic Butter:
While the poppers bake, prepare the honey garlic butter by mixing together the melted butter, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and salt in a small bowl.
Stir until well combined.
Coat and Serve:
Once the poppers are done baking and golden brown, remove them from the oven.
Brush the hot poppers generously with the honey garlic butter.
Serve immediately and enjoy these sweet, spicy, and savory bites!
