make me

Ingredients

Serving Size: 2 people

For the Salmon:

  • 2 portions of skinless salmon, cubed

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, minced

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

For the Bowl:

  • 1 ½ cups cooked rice (white, brown, or sushi rice)

  • 1 cucumber, sliced

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • Spicy mayo (recipe below)

  • Chili crisp (store-bought or homemade)

Spicy Mayo:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to heat preference)

  • 1 tsp lime juice

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon:

  • Cube the salmon into bite-sized pieces and place in a bowl.

  • Add the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, onion powder, and red pepper flakes to the bowl with the salmon. Mix everything together gently to coat the salmon evenly in the marinade.

  • Let the salmon marinate for about 10 minutes (or up to 30 minutes if you have more time).

2. Make the Spicy Mayo:

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha, lime juice, and sesame oil. Mix well and adjust the spiciness by adding more sriracha if desired.

3. Cook the Salmon:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the salmon along with the marinade.

  • Cook for about 5 minutes on one side, then flip the pieces and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and slightly caramelized.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the salmon for added texture and flavor. Set the cooked salmon aside.

4. Assemble the Bowl:

  • Start with a base of cooked rice in each bowl.

  • Top with your cooked honey soy salmon, sliced cucumber, avocado, and green onions.

  • Drizzle with spicy mayo and add a spoonful of chili crisp for a flavorful kick.

  • Enjoy your delicious bowl of flavors! You can garnish with extra sesame seeds, chili flakes, or fresh herbs if desired.

This flavorful salmon bowl brings together sweet, savory, and spicy with a honey-soy glaze, perfectly cooked salmon, and your choice of fresh toppings. The crispy sesame seeds add texture, while the spicy mayo and chili crisp bring a bold, zesty kick. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a meal prep option!
