MUST TRY BEFORE YOU DIE: STEAMED BUNS
Written by: Rocio Sergio (@rocioeats)
What are buns? The official term is Baozi but you might see them on the menu as Bao. They’re a Chinese snack made of steamed bread dough that can be filled with just about anything and everything. The texture of steamed buns are pillowy and soft while the juicy meat and/or veggie filling brings all of the flavor to the dish.
The best place to get them in Miami is, the one and only, Gigi in Midtown. Their featured buns are pork, shrooms, chicken, and brisket (arguably their best one), but the chefs at Gigi whip up all kinds of new and unique buns during the week so you’re always in for a surprise. Steamed buns have become the cool thing to eat now-a-days and were okay with that.
