Sesame Chicken Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 2lbs cubed chicken thighs
Coating for chicken:
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1⁄2 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
In pot:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce Coating:
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 clove fresh grated garlic
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 and 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 scallions, sliced
DIRECTIONS
- Whisk together cornstarch, pepper, and salt and coat chicken thigh cubes with mixture
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan and add half of the chicken. Cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes
- Meanwhile, create your sauce mixture by adding all sauce ingredients above to a bowl. Remove the first batch of chicken from pot and place on another plate. Add the remaining chicken to the pan and repeat step two.
- Add to the pan the sauce mixture and the first batch of chicken. Allow the sauce to reduce and thicken while coating the chicken
- Serve with steamed white rice
