The Generous Pour Event at Capital Grille

The Generous Pour Event at Capital Grille

After many successful summers, The Generous Pour returns for its 7th year at The Capital Grille. You will have the incredible opportunity to experience a collection of California and Oregon wines each rated 90 points or higher by some of the most respected wine reviewers in the world. For just $28, with the purchase of an entrée, you can indulge in beautifully paired wines with no limit, hence the name, “Generous Pour”.

Enjoy it Now – September 3rd, 2017

I was able to try the offering for myself and I am happy to announce that I left full, tipsy, and with a smile on my face. I was seated at a table with 3 glasses before me and was tended to by a waiter well-versed in all wines. Because I’m not a wine buff, I allowed him to pair my wines for me. I ordered what I liked from appetizers to entrees and he had each dish paired perfectly with its respective wine. The best part? I never had an empty glass. I started with a tuna tar tar, which was delicious, and he paired the dish with a beautiful Pinot Grigio. I’m not into very sweet wines, so this was the right wine for me.

We then moved onto the entrees. We ordered an 8oz filet mignon and a fish (our semi-failed attempt to be healthy). Our waiter paired the filet mignon with a wonderful cabernet but had us taste a few others he believed were also worth trying. Again, my glass was never empty.

As a side, we ordered the Lobster Mac n’ Cheese because how could you not?? Although most of our dishes were on the heavier side, the cabernet was light and balanced well with our meal.

For the dessert, we ordered the Capital Grille cheesecake which was paired with another Pinot Grigio. The whole experience is definitely one worth trying. It takes the “bottomless” concept to new heights by adding a personalized element to your dining experience. The Generous Pour is about indulging in unique wines with great company and delicious food. I definitely recommend trying this out whether for a date night or a business meeting. Either way, too much wine is never an issue.

The Generous Pour 2016 collection includes: Stags’ Leap, The Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, Lyric by Etude Pinot Noir, Beaulieu Vineyard, Tapestry Cabernet Blend, Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Blend, Chateau St. Jean, Robert Young Vineyard Chardonnay, Provenance Sauvignon Blanc, Stellina di Notte Pinot Grigio.
